Checkpoint provisions and services

The main functions of the checkpoints are to record the progress of teams; to provide a safe location for participants to rest; to distribute basic food and water provisions; to provide essential first aid and medical support; and to act as a base for communications and emergency services if required.

All checkpoints will have the following:

• St Johns Ambulance First Aid volunteers
• sugar, milk, soy milk and Fair Trade coffee and tea (remember to bring your own reusable cup to the food and beverage tent)
• hot and cold water
• GU2O Sports Drink (½ strength) as recommended by GU Sports for endurance events (remember to bring your own reusable cup/bottle to fill up at the food and beverage tent)
• toilets (urinals for the males at the Start and Checkpoint 1)

Single use compostable cups will only be provided at Checkpoint 1 (as there is no support crew access at this location). To enjoy provisions at all other checkpoints please have your own cup/bottle on hand.

Podiatrists, physiotherapists, massage therapists & chiropractors

We are very lucky to have volunteer physiotherapists, podiatrists, massage therapists and chiropractors at the event. These volunteers will be lending their expertise to help the Trailwalkers make it to the finish line. They will be in high demand, so please remember that they will be very busy and you may have to wait for treatment. The times and locations of their shifts will be announced closer to the day.
