Right now, one in every three people on the planet is living in poverty. Around 900 million people don’t have access to clean water. A billion of us go to bed hungry every night.

Oxfam Australia is determined to change that by working directly with poverty-affected communities in 96 countries, helping them overcome the challenges they face.

We’ve already made great progress and we simply couldn’t do it without Trailwalkers like you. Last year our inspiring participants (that’s you!), raised more than $6.5 million for people living in poverty.

So now that we have established that you like a challenge we have another little challenge for you. If you can surpass your event’s 2017 average fundraising you will be given the opportunity of choosing your teams start time for the start line. It’s a win-win for your team and for people living in poverty!

Here are the details:

Each event has the following starts:

Oxfam Trailwalker Melbourne: 100km – 6:30am, 7:30am, 8:30am, 9:30am   50km – 9am, 10:30am, 12pm, 1:30pm

Oxfam Trailwalker Brisbane: 100km: 7:00am and 8:30am    55km: only 7:00am

Oxfam Trailwalker Sydney: 100km: 7:00am, 8:00am and 9:00am    50km: 7:00am, 8:00am, 9:00am and 10:00am.

Oxfam Trailwalker Perth: 100km: 6:30am and 7:30am    50km: 7:30am

Surpass the 2017 average fundraising total below by the date mentioned and win the chance to choose your start time*.

Oxfam Trailwalker Melbourne: $3,700, Friday 9 February at 5pm – CLOSED
(start times will be announced on Thursday 15 February)

Oxfam Trailwalker Brisbane: $3,300, Tuesday 15 May at 5pm – CLOSED
(start times will be announced on Tuesday 29 May)

Oxfam Trailwalker Sydney: $5,000, Monday 23 July at 5pm
(start times will be announced on Wednesday 1 August)

Oxfam Trailwalker Perth: $3,500, Monday 3 September at 5pm
(start times will be announced on Tuesday 11 September)

* We stagger the starts and allocate equal numbers of teams to each start time in an effort to reduce congestion and minimise our impact on the environment. Should you surpass average fundraising by the deadline you will have the opportunity to nominate your preferred start time, depending on availability. Should we have more teams who have raised the average+ than places permit, we’ll allocate based on highest fundraising teams.
